Editor/Author Biographies
Augusto Balloni enrolled at the University of Bologna, taking a degree in Medicine and Surgery, followed by a major in Pathology of Mental and Neurological Disorders and by a major in Legal Medicine and Assurance. During 1970-2010 he taught criminology at the faculty of Political Sciences, University of Bologna as a Full Professor. He was the Director of C.I.R.Vi.S. (Interdepartmental Centre for Research on Victimology and Security – University of Bologna). For the academic triennium 1984-87 he was Dean of the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bologna. Since 2007, he has been the Publisher and the Editor-in-chief of the Rivista di Criminologia, Vittimologia e Sicurezza (The Criminology, Victimology and Security Journal). Since 1991, he has been the President of the Italian Society of Victimology. He is the author of about 200 publications including volumes, essays, articles and the results of researches, covering Legal and Social Medicine, Clinical and Forensic Psychiatry, Psychology and, above all, Criminology. He organized several international meetings on criminology and victimology.
Raffaella Sette, PhD in criminology, is senior researcher within the Department of Sociology of the University of Bologna (Italy) and she teaches “Criminal sociology” within the Faculty of Political Sciences and “Criminology” within the Faculty of Psychology. She is author of a large number of articles and essays concerning the sociology of the deviance, the criminology and the victimology. She is coordinator of the Editorial Board of the Criminology, Victimology and Security Journal, and since 2002, she is expert member of the Court of Surveillance of Bologna (Italy).
