Description

In the last few years, the world was changing considerably. Within the many obstacles, barriers, and opportunities, three significant challenges should be considered for the future planning of our territories and cities: achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG´s), facing Climate Changes; and performing a shift towards Digitalization. Thereby, specific fields within these three main subjects should be studied in more detail - the Common and Regional Planning and Management, the Migration Fluxes, Public Health Strategies, Land Use Policies, and Spatial Socio-Economic Analysis as just a few examples. Consequently, it will enable us to identify and define the critical factors for the territorial success in the upcoming decades to be considered by the Main-Actors, Decision and Policy Makers, Technicians, and Public in General.

This book is a powerful scientific contribution to help us plan our common future. Throughout this book, it is expected to collect a robust set of contributions of renowned academicians and technicians working over these issues in the planning and development field. It presents a deep understanding, from several perspectives, about the dynamics, challenges, and opportunities for the new decade regarding our common future planning and sustainable development.
