The mission of the International Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Information Systems (IJAEIS) is to provide holistic approaches to the design, development, and implementation of complex agricultural and environmental information systems, addressing the integration of several scientific domains such as agronomy, mathematics, economics, and computer science. Targeting professors, researchers, academicians, and environmentalists, IJAEIS provides a forum for innovative findings in the development of applied software engineering and environmental information systems.

e-Agriculture involves the application of smart phones and recent development in computing like Fog Computing, Internet of Things (IoT) and Big data Analytics in Agriculture sector for sustainable development.

Convergence of cloud computing with technologies such as wireless sensor networking, Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data analytics offers new applications’ for cloud based e-Agriculture applications/Tools. This Special Issue will deliberate upon the systems for delivering Agriculture-as-a-Service (AaaS) through the use of Fog Cloud and Big data technologies.

The objective of this special issue is to create a platform for showcasing the research work on e-Agriculture for the Researchers, Engineers and Students of Agriculture, Economics and Computer Science. Topics to be discussed in this special issue include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Role of ICT in tackling key challenges of agricultural
  • Delivery of knowledge of e-Agriculture through e-Learning.
  • Effective planning for increasing efficiency of e-Agribusiness.
  • Role of e-Agriculture portals for optimizing purchases and sales of agricultural produce.
  • Use Cases/ Case study on Precession Agriculture
  • Research trends e-Agriculture
  • Use Case of application of IoT, Robotics in e-Agriculture
  • Big Data Analytics in Planning in Agriculture
  • Fog Computing in e-Agriculture
  • Research trends in IoT, Fog Computing and Big Data analytics in e-Agriculture

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit their original empirical research articles 5,000–7,000 words in length. Interested authors must consult the journal’s guidelines for manuscript submissions at prior to submission. All submitted articles will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis by no fewer than 3 members of the journal’s Editorial Review Board and 1 Associate Editor. Final decision regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews received from the reviewers and at the sole discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
