Introduction
Information technologies (ITs) are nowadays an integral part of what is called digital heritage, which is a branch of the broader domain of heritage science. As ITs become increasingly inseparable from the everyday practice of the researchers and practitioners relating to cultural heritage, archaeologists and anthropologists, curators and conservators, museologists, educators, heritage managers, local governments and SMEs in tourism, research and development outcomes for those interested individuals and organizations have been showing a significant rate of growth in numbers and of improvement in maturity and in innovation. In order to keep up with this fast changing realm the IJCMHS initiates a call for papers that will include selected relevant high quality papers that will be presented in the ICAT2017 Conference on Information, Communication and Automation Technologies.

Objective
This special issue aims at presenting a selection of high quality papers in the fields of the ICAT2017 Conference on Information, Communication and Automation Technologies, which are relevant to the topics of the IJCMHS. The focus is on the application of ITs in cultural heritage and heritage science in general.

Recommended Topics
Topics to be discussed in this special issue include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Software engineering and information systems
  • Big data technologies
  • Computer graphics and multimedia
  • Communication technologies
  • Estimation and optimization


Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit papers for this special theme issue onInformation, Communication and Automation Technologies for Heritage Science on or before 30 Nov. 2017. All submissions must be original and may not be under review by another publication. INTERESTED AUTHORS SHOULD CONSULT THE JOURNAL’S GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/. All submitted papers will be reviewed on a double-blind, peer review basis. Papers must follow APA style for reference citations.
