Introduction
Today, to be a successful manager one needs to understand how computers can be used to support the organization as a whole as well as for the individual worker. This major specifically presents the computer usage while enhancing knowledge and tools of business management and organizational theory. It is both a theoretical and practical approach which can prepare the scholars for research in computer management, systems applications and other computer-related positions in business, government, and industry.

Objective
This Special Essue on Computers and Multimedia Data Management is a showcase for the latest research in practice and pedagogical topics that focus on how multimedia computing and information systems are used to support organizations or enhance the management process so as to enable researchers build connections between different digital applications and management.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit papers for this special theme issue on Computers and Multimedia Data Management] on or before November 30, 2017. All submissions must be original and may not be under review by another publication. INTERESTED AUTHORS SHOULD CONSULT THE JOURNAL’S GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/. All submitted papers will be reviewed on a double-blind, peer review basis. Papers must follow APA style for reference citations.

Introduction
The special issue covers all aspects of multimedia data management, including algorithms, software and systems, and applications. RICE-18 draws researchers and application developers from a wide range of data management related areas such as big data, image processing, data mining using multimedia environment based researches including the high performance computing. By promoting novel, high quality research findings, and innovative solutions to challenging multimedia data engineering, the conference seeks to continuously advance the state-of-the-art in management and multimedia engineering. The International conference RICE2018 is one such step towards the exchange of ideas for development of multimedia data and knowledge extraction.

Objective
The main intent of this Special issue is to cover both the theory and applications of various MDEM techniques. It aims to provide an intellectual forum for researchers in Academia, and Scientists and Engineers from a wide range of application areas to present their latest research findings in multimedia and related research areas to identify future challenges in this novel combination of research areas.

While this special issue is aimed to bring together extended version of few significant articles from International conference on RICE 2018, it is completely open to external submissions for authors who have not participated to the conference.
