Introduction
Knowledge Management (KM) is a multidisciplinary emerging key area of research to explain organizational innovation and learning. KM encompasses the creation, documentation, organization, transfer and preservation of valuable know-how that has been gleaned from practical experience. Knowledge Management practices help in facilitating knowledge acquisition, dissemination and utilization. Conversely, KM also plays a vital role in ensuring that past mistakes are not repeated, that lessons are learned and that we always start off on the right foot—that is, standing on the accumulated collective knowledge, know-how and experience that has gone before. The advent of the Web 2.0, the term KM 2.0 has been coned to summarize the new trends in Knowledge Management. KM 2.0 is defined as the creation, acquisition and sharing of collective intelligence through social networks and communities.

Objective
The objective of the special issue is to provide a comprehensive cross discipline forum for advancing the understanding of the organizational, technical, human, and cognitive issues associated with the creation, capture, transfer and use of knowledge in organizations. The secondary objective of this issue is to share knowledge among researchers and practitioners with respect to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of effective knowledge management systems. The issue publishes high quality empirical and theoretical research covering all aspects of knowledge management. In addition to full-length research manuscripts, the journal publishes insightful research and practice notes as well as case studies from all areas of knowledge management.
