Indian households have prioritised health and hygiene since the pandemic. Due to increased awareness of social distancing, handwashing, and mask use, families can protect themselves and their loved ones from infectious diseases. Because of this, people are making healthier choices and appreciating preventative healthcare more. Indian families and households have benefited from the pandemic, despite its many negative effects. Digital technology, family ties, gender equality, and health and hygiene will all benefit Indian society in the long run.

Concerns have been raised by families across the country about the well-being of their loved ones, particularly elderly relatives, and people with pre-existing medical conditions. Impact on the economy the pandemic has also had a significant impact on families' finances as a result of its spread. It has become difficult for a lot of people to meet their fundamental requirements because they have either lost their jobs or seen a significant drop in their income. This has led to increased levels of stress and anxiety regarding financial matters.
Education has been impacted negatively as a result of the pandemic that has been going on in India. Students have been forced to turn to online education because a significant number of schools and colleges have been forced to close for extended periods of time. This has proven to be difficult for a lot of different households, particularly those that do not have access to modern technology or the internet.
Mental health: A great number of people in India have seen a decline in their mental health as a direct result of the pandemic. Isolation from one's peers, fear of the unknown, and uncertainty have all contributed to an uptick in the incidence of depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. As a result of the pandemic, families have been compelled to devote more attention and energy to parenting and to spend more time together as a unit. The following is a list of some changes in parenting practices that have been observed in India since the pandemic, along with an explanation of how these changes may affect mental health:
As a consequence of the pandemic, parents are now more aware of the significance of maintaining their mental health and are placing a greater emphasis on providing their children with emotional support and maintaining open lines of communication with them. This trend toward emotionally supportive parenting may be beneficial to children's mental health because it may encourage greater feelings of self-worth, self-assurance, and resiliency in children.
Spending more time online to further one's education: As a direct consequence of the prolonged closure of schools, parents have been forced to take a more active role in their children's educational pursuits, including providing frequent assistance with online learning. These days, parents have to deal with a greater amount of stress and work than ever before, which can be detrimental to their mental health.
As a direct result of the pandemic, parenting styles have evolved, with some parents adopting more poorly enforced or permissive approaches to the management of their children's behavior. It's possible that this is happening because parents are making an effort to create a less tense and more nurturing environment for their children in spite of the additional stress and uncertainty that the pandemic has brought about.
