Abstract

The tourism sector is transforming the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to enrich visitor experiences and at the same time promote the conservation of ecosystems. In this study on “AI-Driven Solutions for Virtual Tourism: Balancing Visitor Experience and Ecosystem Conservation” the novel AI solutions, utilizing virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) as primary vehicles to develop ecological friendly tourism virtually immersive experiences, are introduced. Using AI-powered personalization, the framework personalizes virtual experiences based on each person's unique preferences and nurtures a deeper understanding of the local ecosystem and culture of heritage. Predictive analytics are also crucial in handling visitor resorts and ensuring hot spots of tourists are opened for visitation in a manner that will never affect the ecological integrity. This chapter provides supporting examples of AI driven solutions in protected areas and demonstrates their ability to improve visitor experience without compromising natural resources.
