Abstract

This study examines the trade dynamics of the textile sector between India and BRICS nations, focusing on digitalization's role in facilitating trade and promoting sustainable practices. The BRICS alliance, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, represents a significant share of global trade and GDP. India's textile industry, crucial for employment and exports, exhibits a comparative advantage in certain products like cotton and carpets. However, trade intensity varies across BRICS countries, with strong ties observed with South Africa but challenges persisting with China. Leveraging digital technologies and sustainable practices is recommended to enhance trade competitiveness and strengthen economic ties within BRICS framework.
