Behavior of any human is mostly permanent as per their personality, but it gets influenced by a variety of factors originating psychologically and socially. However, some temporary factors such as attitude, surroundings, instant mood, culture, etc. may hamper behavior severely. Researchers have published many articles depending upon human behavior and its approach. This study is aimed to describe the effect of external parameters on human behavior in Indians as well as Europeans due to COVID-19 outbreak globally. This study is a survey made on online platform in Indian premises and studies carried by researchers in four European countries: UK, France, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Comparisons have been done with different levels and parameters between India and European countries. This chapter not only concludes the psychological constraints but also the good habits adopted by peoples during COVID-19 pandemic to have a safer future.
TopBackground And Introduction
As referred to the world’s history pandemics are consistent part of human life over hundreds of years. These pandemics weather it may be Spanish flu or yellow fever, they are life threatening for humans as well as for other biological creatures (Michie, S. et al, 2014). Globally the world has witnessed many pandemics due to spread of viruses such as Ebola, Nipah etc. Likewise other pandemics COVID-19 was identified to emerge from bats. When dead bats came in contact with humans, they transmitted SARS virus or COVID-19 virus, since the first case was traced in Wuhan China in 2019 and so it was named as Corona virus disease 2019 that is COVID-19(Matos, A. D. et al, 2021). Soon this disease became pandemic globally and thus was the major concern as declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019. COVID-19 touched the boundaries of almost all the countries of the world (Crosta, A. D. et al, 2020). This strategic pandemic is also responsible for declination in economics globally. It is responsible for millions of causalities around the world harnessing the mental status of individuals to the worst (Cassenti, D. et al, 2020). The world is suffering from last one and a half years till yet with this pandemic. The overall world is grouped to be either developed or developing; in this study four countries stands on the side of developed nations where as the fifth country India stands still as a developing nation.
During COVID-19 outbreak, the governments globally initiated various health safety measurements. This study aimed to highlight the significant similarities and dissimilarities in psychological aspects as an indicator between the great European countries and India; the mental wellness of whose outcomes during the pandemic outbreak around 2020 are identified. We Surveyed data for 300 individuals in India under different parameters using online platforms and telephone method. Usually we tried to balance the individuals in equal numbers of males and females but at some point it’s not clearly possible but at least males and females both participated in this survey. However for European countries we surfed the data based upon the research of researchers, doctors, thinkers, scientists and various psychologists around the world (Varga, T. V. et al, 2020). We came to know that being a developing country and lot of other social and economic challenges India withstand the pandemic as a great warrior as compared to the great developed European countries. The major challenge in front of India was its concern for population which is around 138 Crores and that is approximately 250 times as compared to population of any European country. In spite of this situations India survived almost 3 waves with somewhat causalities accounting for less than 1% of its total population. The impacts of lockdowns, quarantines, and unfriendliness as described above have been analyzed. All analysis focuses on the initial stages of lockdowns and quarantines in early march and April 2020 whose main outcomes are anxiety, loneliness, depression, worries, fear and other precautionary behaviors (Basu, S. et al, 2020).
