The usage of cyber-physical systems in manufacturing settings and the proliferation of connected IT systems have both contributed to a rise in the volume of available data. Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used more and more by businesses to sift through this mountain of data and draw meaningful insights. The widespread adoption and implementation of AI has far-reaching implications for socio-technical work systems. Distinct leadership needs and challenges might be identified. Effective AI deployment and use necessitates strong leadership. Considering the scenario and the rapid development of AI to give organisations with practical instructions and ideas, more research is needed into AI's influence on leaders and leadership. TopLeadership Today -Basics
The notion of leadership, both as a topic of academic investigation and as a term, can be comprehended and expressed in several manners. Within a leadership eco system, the notions of leadership and responsibility exhibit a strong interconnection. A leader assumes the responsibility for multiple domains, ranging from the overall functioning of the company to the well-being and management of its employees. Relevant elements for employees may include domains such as information, qualification, and communication. The notion of employee leadership might be open to several interpretations. The manifestation of this phenomena is evident through the wide range of leadership behaviours that have been developed in academic research. Leadership demonstrates discernible behaviours along the course of value creation (Gao, 2020). The process encompasses the conceptualization, establishment, and articulation of specific goals and strategies. Concurrently, leadership undertakes the obligation of producing and organising activity. As a result, it creates a favourable environment for the achievement of goals. Leadership assumes the responsibility of providing guidance and management through the utilisation of crucial communication (Yannick Peifer, 2022). Within this context, there exists a notable degree of diversity in the various forms and approaches to leadership. Leaders have the capacity to demonstrate both task-oriented and employee-oriented behaviours. The understanding of the combo of both that aligns with a certain scenario dependent on the circumstances. The level of both task orientation and staff orientation might exhibit variability. Nevertheless, it is widely recognised in scholarly literature that the existence of both components is essential for effective leadership (Gatziu Grivas, 2023). The phenomenon of employees being guided by leaders is a perpetual facet of leadership. During the duration of adopting a leadership position, the leader demonstrates certain behavioural patterns that are indicative of effective leadership. The primary objective of leadership is to influence subordinates by demonstrating successful leadership characteristics (Surji, K. M. S, 2015). The current study is centred on the topic of Artificial Intelligence and leadership, drawing from existing reviews in the research fields. It specifically examines four main areas: strategic transformation, skills and competences, culture creation and the development self of a leader in the AI arena.
