Abstract

Metaverse and healthcare working together introduces a lot of attractive possibilities as well as challenges. On the positive side, the metaverse can make online doctor appointments more interesting and personal. It also enables the remote monitoring of patients thereby making healthcare more accessible. Training for doctors and nurses can improve with realistic practices using the metaverse. And, with the virtual world of the metaverse, scientists can work across countries in a virtually induced workplace where they will research and formulate special drugs. But, using the metaverse in healthcare comes with challenges. Patient information security and confidentiality should be handled with great caution. Using the metaverse can be challenging due to technology issues. Accessibility by all to these newly developed healthcare services is just as important. And we must follow the rules and moral guidelines in healthcare while using the metaverse. Along with healthcare and the metaverse, recognizing both positive and negative aspects will help improve healthcare for all individuals.
