Abstract

In the prevailing global landscape marked by resource scarcity, environmental degradation, the pervasive effects of global climate change, and a growing demand for food, the circular economy (CE) emerges as a pivotal economic paradigm for fostering sustainable, restorative, and regenerative agricultural practices. Consequently, the application of CE principles to agriculture aims to streamline the lifecycle of products, services, waste, water, and energy, thereby optimizing resource utilization and mitigating ecological footprints. An initial exploration of existing literature affirms the notion that the integration of the CE framework into agriculture remains incompletely realized. This integration paves the way for the advancement of circular economy principles in agriculture. Embracing the circular economy represents a pathway towards achieving a harmonious balance between economic growth and environmental preservation.
