Abstract

A remote mechanism-based new technology called wireless body area network (WBAN) is provided to observe and collect patient health record data with the aid of some wearable sensors. It provides privacy for healthcare professionals and an excellent degree of system security and also plays a major task in storing and ensuring the patient's records. A novel focus for preventing resources of wireless sensor network is implemented to bring a convenient plat form for the healthcare professionals. The adaptable energy efficient MAC protocol is presented in this chapter for the preservations of energy, and its result is discussed for the healthcare analysis.

The term wireless network refers to Sensor Networks, Ad-hoc Networks, WBAN and WHAN. Wireless networks consist of a group of nodes with the wireless communication between the nodes. This network does not have any predefined infrastructure. Its begins from the home appliances to defense field communication applications. In an emergency, communication network for a rescue-team is one of the potential applications of a wireless network (Haas et al.,2006; Hamilton 2002).

Defining the WSN-based healthcare system is the difficult task. Under health care services; each component such as sensor is used in collecting the data from the health care receivers and establishes the hybrid wireless communication for establishing the network. Based on this idea, a simple WSN based heath care system is enhanced. In simple way, the definition for the WSN based Health care system is “ A sensor network with set of sensing devices embed at home or at patient body with the proper communication links from the central data management system to attain the health care monitoring tasks”. Among the many communication paradigms, structure of the logical service provider and communication interconnection infrastructure is paid more importance.

Mrinmoy Barua et al.(2011), proposed an secure data transmission design in WBAN for data integrity. This user-centric design shares the data among all the sensors with a secret key to minimize processing requirements and the additional memory requirement. The results obtained based on security analysis proves this scheme provides proper privacy and security. And also it reduces the waiting time of a real time traffic in WBAN.
