Abstract

Dynamic teacher education is created within a collaborative community of prior and current teachers and faculty within a university educator preparation program who provide expertise in curriculum and non-curriculum topics such as classroom management or child development. Current and prior teachers are vital contributors to educator preparation as mentors during a candidate's clinical placements. All participants guide a future teacher to acquire the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that are the cornerstone of educator preparation. A collaborative approach among the stakeholders creates a community of learners and experts who support a preservice teacher through the preparation process.
