Abstract

This multiple case study is a qualitative approach towards better understanding developing digital learning landscapes. Equally impactful are considerations towards generative artificial intelligence, large language models, machine learning, and simulations integrated into course creation. The findings reflect twelve major themes that fall into categories of course design (course design with decisions based within environment, course design experience, course design), organizational philosophy of instructional supports (social learning, organization as collegiality and community supports, training and talent development, teaching complexity), student success and learner motivational supports (learner success as retention and competencies-capabilities, designing user experience and accessibility, learner motivation and ethical knowledge attainment), and innovation dynamics (flawed viability, viability of innovation).
