Abstract

With AI integration in business processes becoming more prevalent, SMEs have opportunities to enhance decision-making and innovation. This research examines Elicit, an AI-powered platform for accessing and analyzing academic literature. Through practical usage of the technology, the study evaluates Elicit's features, usability, and its impact on SMEs' ability to leverage research for business challenges. Findings highlight its ease of use and potential in guiding SMEs toward valuable insights, comparing it with traditional research methods. The study explores AI-driven solutions' opportunities and challenges, offering recommendations for future research and practical applications. It contributes to AI, knowledge management, and SME strategy discussions, informing SMEs, policymakers, and developers about AI adoption. Strategic experimentation is key to understanding its capabilities and limitations, while structured reporting and co-creation enhance learning. Ethical considerations must guide adoption to ensure responsible and effective implementation.
