Ethical Leadership in the Age of AI

Abstract

This chapter examines leaders' perspectives on the ethical use of AI, drawing insights from 17 respondents across various industries. Six open-ended questions were crafted to explore ethical AI usage, with responses analyzed through sentiment and topic analysis. Most leaders expressed positive views on the ethical dimensions of AI and leadership. Findings highlighted the significance of ethical and moral principles in ensuring data privacy and security within AI-augmented systems. Organizational management is actively developing strategies to address the risks and challenges posed by AI. The study identified five key themes: the need for AI systems to be human-centric, the importance of training and development, ethical AI development, data privacy, and the integration of AI into organizational mainframes. Overall, the research underscores the necessity for leaders to cultivate a responsible approach to AI usage.
