Abstract

Digital colonization? Various meanings and interpretations have been attributed to this term by different parties. Some view it positively, while others interpret it negatively. This clearly demonstrates the diverse range of interpretations surrounding this significant term. The different interpretations show that the term's meaning is broad and depends on the context. Thus, this study aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the term “digital colonization” within the Malaysian context. Discussions will center on the digital landscape in Malaysia and its implications for businesses. The discussions and arguments in this study will help create statements and definitions about digital colonization in Malaysia. Therefore, the study will thoroughly review existing literature to explore its scope. Overall, the findings of this study extend beyond the confines of Malaysia which offering insights applicable to broader discussions in context digitalization.
