Abstract

Sexuality and disability as concepts are ones that have mostly been used in separate spaces. A majority of the articles written or journals published explore sexuality but only among able-bodied humans. Therefore, sexuality among disabled individuals has been seen as an impossible feat. It is no wonder that most disabled individuals are believed to be asexual and not capable of maintaining sexual relationships. However, recent publications have begun to explore possibilities of sexual activities occurring among disabled humans where they may eventually get married and also procreate. Hence, this chapter aims to explore those gaps in knowledge and look into sexuality and disability as on concept as one would see human sexuality as a concept.
