Abstract

Face recognition is a type of biometric system that scans and analyses the face of an individual and identifies the individual. It is part of biometrics, which includes fingerprint, eye scanning, palm print, voice, and signature recognition. It increases system security by recognizing the individual who is accessing the system. Face recognition plays a crucial role in crime investigation by identifying and locating criminals. It is essential because it has an enhanced security system, no need for memorization, live detection, scalability, and reduced human error. The first step is locating and scanning the face. It uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning. Face recognition and images may also use convolutional neural networks. A convolutional neural network is a type of deep learning that extracts identifying features from data, lacking pre-programmed understanding. It is specialized in image and object detection and analysis.
