Introduction

Recall the note from Chapter 1 that careful and meticulous planning is critical to conducting a meaningful study. When the problem and objectives have been identified and constructive research questions have been formulated along with hypotheses, the research then gets to proceed. After all is said and done, sound data is collected and appropriate analyses are employed, the big question is what is next?

In this chapter, readers are guided through the encapsulation of the study. In addition, specific recommendations and future endeavours are included. Sections and subtopics tackled in this chapter include:

  • An Overview: Conclusion: In this section of the chapter, an encapsulation of the study at hand, its accompanying revelations and they mean to historically black colleges and universities and even institutions and organisations in general with respect to the deployment of enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business are presented. Again, readers are driven through enlightenment.

  • Recommendations for Higher Echelon Administrators at Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Ensued by the reconnoitring of the impact of enterprise electronic commerce on leadership at institutions and organisations, this section presents specific recommendations to historically black colleges and universities. An Overview: Conclusion

These findings have provided direct relationships between variables pertinent to yielding positive impact of enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions at institutions. According to these findings, leadership must consider their initial investments and factor of change to see full positive impact on their investments in electronic commerce solutions. The results have led to the conclusions that the length of time of the adoption of enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions at institutions or historically black colleges and universities per se is immaterial. The length of time enterprise electronic commerce solutions or electronic business solutions are installed at historically black colleges and universities, if not the proper ones suitable for their organisational fabric, does not significantly enhance organisational leadership efficiency and effectiveness. When this condition is satisfied, full impact of enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions at these institutions will be realised.

Additionally, over half of the administrators from the study perceive that enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions impact student enrolment positively. Students’ satisfaction, as evidenced by the study at hand is sustained by adequate enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions.

Close to three-quarters of the administrators believe that enterprise electronic commerce solutions impact efficiency and effectiveness of institutional leadership and is backed by the analyses. There is great improvement in report generation and decrease in time spent on budget planning with adequate enterprise electronic commerce installations in place at historically black colleges and universities. Adequately installed, enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions reinforce the image and reputation of institutions. Enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions facilitate and promote faster and effective conflict resolution among faculty, staff, and students. Enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions greatly impacts faculty and staff evaluations at historically black colleges and universities. Efficient conduct of historically black colleges and universities’ administration is heavily impacted by enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions. Enterprise electronic commerce or electronic business solutions have positive impact on organisational leadership ethically, socially, culturally and legally.
