Abstract

This chapter explores the ethical use of generative AI in the hospitality industry, with a focus on preserving customer privacy and ensuring responsible use of technology. This can be accomplished by giving people the chance to create transparent data governance, privacy-preserving methods, and the urgent need for algorithmic auditing to reduce bias. This chapter provides organisational preparedness insights for a seamless transition to AI in the hotel sector. The chapter also discusses the factors that influence the effective application of such technology and the necessity of upskilling personnel in order to maximise the potential of technological advancements. It also examines the applications of generative AI in the hospitality sector, including frameworks for AI-driven ROI assessments for business impacts and creativity, product creation, and strategic decision-making. This chapter aims to equip hospitality leaders with the tools to properly integrate intelligent solutions by advocating for human-centred design principles and encouraging cross-functional collaboration.
