Abstract

Since the Moroccan Refinery (SAMIR) closure, the current model of governance and strategic approaches to the oil sector in Morocco has become a concern to public authorities. This model is the subject of many studies and discussions because this sector is of particular importance due to the industry's strategic and sensitive nature. The objective in this chapter is to analyze how Moroccan oil energy companies will be able to respond effectively to the challenges imposed by the closure of local refining capacities. How can they ensure more or less stable and sustainable governance in energy supply at the national level? To what extent does the governance of Moroccan oil companies adopt multifaceted strategies to ensure the sustainability of operations and the stability of the Moroccan oil market? In addition, engagement with regulatory authorities and stakeholders also allows for guaranteeing quality requirements, fiscal conditions, and favorable adjustments. In addition, expanding of distribution and sales networks in detail is an essential element that maintains market access and consumer reception.
