Abstract

Can sustainability and employee wellbeing go hand in hand? This study uncovers how Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) not only enhances the Green Performance (GP) of wineries but also boosts Employee Wellbeing (EW), creating a powerful cycle of sustainability. Using data from 196 Spanish wineries and a PLS-SEM approach, our findings reveal that eco-conscious HR practices—green hiring, training, and performance management—significantly improve GP, with EW acting as a key mediator. Grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV), this research highlights GHRM as a strategic asset that fuels both environmental and organizational success. The results provide actionable insights for wineries and policymakers to integrate sustainability into HR strategies. By investing in people, wineries can drive a greener, more resilient future.
