Abstract
This chapter considers the potential of AI across various academic disciplines, examining how GAI tools are changing the entire research lifecycle. The chapter begins by exploring AI's interdisciplinary applications, showcasing its ability to enhance research methodologies and outcomes in diverse fields such as humanities, sciences, and social sciences. It then provides an in-depth analysis of GAI's role in each stage of the research process, from ideation and topic selection to the refinement of research questions and hypotheses.
