Measuring the impact of the system on health services provision is an important evaluation for a decision support system, arguably the most important evaluation of this type of system. Two types of measurements are common in health services, these are measurements of improvement to process and measurements of improvements to patient outcomes. Both of these measures are important, however measurements in patients outcomes are often the ultimate measures, and in this respect measurements to improvements in process may be considered intermediate to them, however the expectation is that improvements in process should lead to improvements in patient outcomes ultimately. Medical record audit was the methodology used in measuring improvements in compliance with the maternal health guidelines by the health providers in the study. This chapter presents the details about the methods used in the medical audits that were carried out in the study to measure the impact of the system on the quality of care rendered.
