Abstract

This research paper investigates the implementation of sustainable human resource management (HRM) practices within higher education institutions (HEIs), focusing on a case study conducted at one of India's premier business schools (IPBS) located in Bangalore, Karnataka. The study explores how IPBS integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, promotes employee well-being and work-life balance, and incorporates environmental sustainability considerations into its HRM policies and procedures. Through qualitative methods, including interviews and document analysis, the findings reveal IPBS's commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and environmentally responsible work environment. The paper concludes with recommendations for HEIs to enhance DEI initiatives, invest in employee well-being programs, and integrate environmental sustainability into HRM strategies, thereby serving as catalysts for broader societal change.
