India's Cybersecurity Journey: Challenges and Triumphs

Abstract

India's security threat landscape is rapidly evolving, with new and diverse security challenges emerging. The country faces threats from terrorism, both domestic and transnational, as well as from cyber-attacks, border tensions, and separatist movements. The threat of extremism, both religious and ideological, is also a growing concern. Additionally, natural disasters and pandemics have the potential to disrupt security and destabilize the region. India must work to enhance its intelligence-gathering capabilities, improve inter-agency coordination, and strengthen its counterterrorism and cybersecurity infrastructure to effectively address these emerging security threats. This chapter presents the existing security threat landscape for India.
