Abstract

Since the emergence of the industrial revolution, the use of energy resources has increased considerably, particularly non renewable (coal, oil and gas), so these resources are no longer sufficient to cover the different energy needs, and this has become a challenge to the energy independance of many gouvernment now and in the future. This has caused the world to scramble for other ways to satisfy these needs in which the results of scientific research and development envolved from alternative uses of old energy sources and named green economy, and many think about the future of energy despite the barriers that still hinder the general application of this type of economy. Energy consumption in Algeria is focused almost entirely on fossil fuels, hydrocarbons, and gas in particular. In recent years, Algeria is deciding to move intro the green economy, the unique solution for meeting future energy requirements and helping reduce environmental risks.

Introduction

It is clear that humanity is living on earth farther form sustainably. We are doing very few activities in a completely sustainble way. Therefore, changes need to be made around the board. Thankfully, there are plenty of suggestions, good practices and success stories that span almost all industries, demonstrating how we can embrace more green technology and begin living their lives.

The notion of Green Economy is not completely a new term. It was first proposed by the London Environmental Economics Centre (LEEC) in 1989 written by David Pearce, Anil Markandya, and Ed Barbier1. Nevertheless, at that period the term did not receive universal acceptance. With the emergence of the economic crisis in 2007 and the inability of many countries to step towards a sustainable development direction, it has become clear that the recent development model does not produce the desired results on all sides economic, social, and environmental. One of the explanations for the lack of significant change was the failure to make a real business case environmental investment. In order to persuade strategy and decision makers to engage in the environment, they must be assured that such a transformation would also bring economic benefits. Such advantgaes involve creating additional jobs, increasing productivity, creating new business niches and developing trade, and having a positive impact on GDP.

It is therefore important to show that investment in the environment, socioeconomic and green development have a clear connection. As the ultimate objective of any development strategy should be human wellbeing, a well-designed green economy strategy will contribute to the eradiction of poverty. Green Economy could be seen as a strategy that emphasizes these links. It could therefore be regarded as a process or tool that drives the transition to sustainable development.

Embracing an ecosystem view instead of dealing with various environmental biomes like forests, deserts, and aquatic life as different and isolated environment elements. The adoption of an ecosystem approach allows for a good understanding and appreciation of the reality that the different biomes are part of an embedded whole i.e. part of an environment. Such an method guarantees a better understanding of the connections and interrelationship between the various biomes. As a result, it leads to better green economy.

The Problem of Paper and Questions Subcommittee: Through the above highlights we have the following problem: What is the reality and the prospects of green Economy in Algeria ?

And through this problem highlights the following sub-questions:

  • what are we talking about when we are talk about Green innovation ?

  • What is the difference between green innovation and theses concepts: eco-innovation, Sustainable development and Environmental innovation ?

  • what is the concept of green economy ?

  • what is the requirements for achieving the green economy ?

Objectives of The study: This study aims to:

  • Identify concepts related to green innovation and green economy .

  • Know the reality of Algeria in the field of Green economy and renewable energies .

The Importance of the Study: demonstrating the importance of the paper through the importance of the issues addressed by:

  • The importance of the subject of Green innovation

  • The importance of the subject of renewable energy as the energy of the future.

  • The importance of the subject of Green Economy in Algeria.

The Methodology of the Work: the preparation of this paper was based on the descriptive and analytical method, in which, we find the descriptive method in the definition of variables of the research, the analytical method applied in the case study.
