Abstract

This research investigates the multifaceted factors influencing waste management practices of the people in suburban areas of the north coastal Andhra Pradesh, India. Adopting a descriptive research design, mixed approaches are employed to gather comprehensive insights. A convenience sampling method is utilized to select participants, and data is collected through self-administered questionnaires, supplemented by primary and secondary data sources. The study employs EFA and multiple regression, along with machine learning techniques for data analysis. Findings reveal the significance of infrastructure availability, population density, socio-economic status, education, cultural norms, government policies, community engagement, technological innovations, and access to recycling facilities, public health concerns, urban planning, and social norms in shaping waste management behaviors. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers, urban planners, and community stakeholders to enhance waste management strategies.
