The intent of this chapter is to introduce the reader to the foundations upon which Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is slowly revolutionizing the field of cybersecurity. Over the next few pages, the reader will become familiar with the concept of GenAI, including its core technologies-generative adversarial networks, variational autoencoders, and a host of other sophisticated deep learning models. One needs to note that most of the technologies mentioned in this chapter are among the cutting-edge developments that are currently pushing the boundaries of cybersecurity.
