Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015, offer a universal framework to address global challenges and achieve sustainable development. Comprising 17 goals and 169 targets, they aim to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, promote economic growth, and protect the planet, guided by the principle of “Leave no one behind.” Rooted in sustainability, the SDGs emphasize interconnected social, economic, and environmental dimensions. They prioritize inclusivity, integration, accountability, and partnerships among governments, businesses, civil society, and individuals. Building on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the SDGs adopt a more expansive, collaborative approach to development. While challenges like limited resources, political instability, and COVID-19 disruptions persist, innovative governance and collective action are critical to success. By fostering global solidarity, the SDGs provide a roadmap for a just and sustainable future, urging shared responsibility and unwavering commitment to achieving their vision by 2030.
