Abstract

Festivals and fairs abound throughout India. More festivals are observed in this nation than everywhere else in the globe. Social and cultural festivals and fairs have become a tool for promoting regional economies, extending the tourist season, and developing the tourism industry. The effects of these fairs and festivals matter for the local economy as well as the tourism industry. The culture, traditions, and festivals provide an explanation of the “way of life of a place” and aid in our understanding of a certain locale. To discover more about the customs and traditions of the host town, many tourists go to attend a variety of festivals. The chapter has therefore concentrated on different regional fairs and festivals of Rajasthan that have not yet been explored with the intention of enhancing the local economy, and such chances occasionally go unused. The recommendation would therefore be to invest in festival development and community involvement while providing tourists with distinctive experiences.
