Abstract

In recent years there has been an increasing amount of research on the practice of mindfulness in education. There are several studies that examine the practice of mindfulness and its effectiveness in various aspects of the lives of both students and teachers. The purpose of the chapter is to mention the different practices that have already been implemented in different educational levels, either in pupils/ students or teachers/ tutors and their effectiveness in different aspects of their lives, through literature. It is also discussed mindfulness as a quite promising practice, which is likely to be a pedagogical practice that serves educational purposes that have long been part of the tradition of education.
