Abstract

In the world of fast and digital modes of trade and business, the silk road seems to be obsolete. The rise of digital technologies and e-commerce platforms in the 21st century, enabling even small businesses to access global markets, has further democratized trade (Sorin et al., 2018; Ikwue et al., 2023). However, China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) promises much development and technological advancements for Pakistan in the shape of CPEC. CPEC is considered a crucial initiative for the strategic and socioeconomic development of the developing country, drawing much international attention and obstacles. However, the study is a conceptual and descriptive analysis of the CPEC and some of the major related projects.
