Abstract

The events preceding the onset of death and occurring after its ascertainment, the medical definition of death, the causes of its onset, and the problem of biological immortality are considered. A soliton-wave model of near-death processes has been constructed. Within the framework of the model and from the standpoint of the theory of self-organization, the definition of the death of the system, its causes, and the scenarios of subsequent events for the components of the system are considered. The results obtained are practically important for medicine and a comprehensive understanding of the problem of biological immortality. Simulation results were compared with known data; their correlations are shown.
