Abstract

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) plays a vital role in higher education by ensuring the quality and standards of technical education institutions. However, challenges (rigid evaluation criteria, lack of flexibility in accommodating diverse educational models, and slow accreditation cycles) have been addressed to improve the quality further. The chapter proposes new policies to make the accreditation process more dynamic, transparent, and responsive to the rapidly changing educational environment. These proposed policies can be applied to improve India's higher education quality and contribute to the country's goal of becoming a global hub for knowledge and innovation. The roadmap for policymakers, educators, and accreditation bodies has also been explored to drive the evolution of India's higher education landscape. The challenges faced in implementing new NBA policies to promote innovation, excellence, and inclusivity in Indian higher education have also been also illustrated.
