Abstract

Architectural education, rooted in historical models like Beaux-Arts and Bauhaus, has long shaped pedagogical practices focusing on formalism and functionality. However, contemporary discourse suggests a need for a paradigm shift towards addressing social and cultural dimensions in architectural education. This chapter explores the evolution of architectural pedagogy through the lens of Studio 201 (atölyeikiyüzbir), a design studio experience spanning over two decades at the Gazi University Department of Architecture.
