Abstract

This chapter focuses on how artificial Intelligence (AI)-based business intelligence (BI) systems can be used to optimize supply chains. It starts with an introduction to the basics of supply chains and supply chain management processes and then moves on to an explanation of business intelligence systems. The discussion then progresses to the application of BI systems in the supply chain specifically in the improvement of demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics among others. Lastly, the chapter explores various ways in which BI systems can be enhanced through the incorporation of AI technologies by providing real-time analysis, prediction, and automation. Thus, the chapter reveals the positive impact and practical application of the AI-powered BI systems in the context of supply chain Optimization.
