Abstract

One of the main tasks of every pedagogue is to critically think and evaluate their own work in order to constantly improve and adapt to the needs of children. In this way, the child is placed at the very center of the educational process, which is the goal of the modern educational process. As part of his work, he creates and implements prevention programs, which leads to risk reduction and strengthening of protective factors for the development of behavioral problems. It should be noted that risk reduction and strengthening of protective factors should be started at the youngest possible age of the child. He also notes that he assesses the needs of whole groups of children, suggests different forms of support to other participants, consults with teachers, children, parents, and all other important people in the child's life. In other words, he creates the conditions for a child's healthy development to change his behavior and effectively meet his own needs by respecting norms, rules, and boundaries.

Introduction: Social Pedagogical Profession As An Auxiliary Profession

Social pedagogical professions are classified as helping professions and relate to work with behavioral problems, emotions and work on interpersonal relationships, in order to provide help to others, people who are in crisis, trouble and who need it. The goal of helping professions is counselling that results in positive changes in people in such a way that they overcome difficulties in social functioning and integration. That is why quality social support is needed throughout life, and it is especially important at the youngest age of a child for his proper psychosocial development. Social support is especially important for children living in orphanages and foster families. The goal of social pedagogy is to focus on the individual as a whole person, to support his/her development, and in order for a person to achieve this, it is necessary to achieve interdisciplinarity within teamwork. In modern society, difficulties in the psychosocial functioning of the individual are conditioned by the accelerated pace and way of life, social, economic and political changes, and therefore impose the need to affirm socio-pedagogical professions that will contribute to the empowerment of individuals and solve these difficulties. Accordingly, the pedagogue must be realized through the role of a reflective practitioner, which is useful and necessary because the educational system is undergoing constant and accelerated changes, due to which the usual laws are changing rapidly.

Only through unique theoretical and practical work is it possible to achieve changes in behavior. Today, everything is changing and advancing rapidly, and the changes that occur as a result of globalization processes in which knowledge is very important can have both positive and negative effects on the lives of young people. All this requires continuous adaptation to new circumstances and challenges. Nowadays, it is quite normal for a person to usually change several occupations during their working life. Business situations are volatile nowadays everyone has to adapt to a dynamic environment, including professionals employed in the field of education. Today's challenges expand the scope of work of pedagogue from upbringing and education in the preschool and school system to: professional orientation, orphanage pedagogy, work with adults, social welfare, human resources and the probation system.

In order for pedagogue to be successful in his work it is necessarily have appropriate competencies. The work of pedagogues is usually associated with work on upbringing and education in the preschool and school system. Most pedagogues upgrade most competencies with lifelong learning, so they attach great importance to additional education and professional development.

As part of his work, the social pedagogue creates and implements prevention programs, which leads to a reduction of risks and strengthening of protective factors for the development of behavioral problems. He also works with other children if behavioral problems occur in combination with other difficulties and become dominant and interfere with the child's optimal development or when behavioral problems appear as a secondary difficulty. It should be noted that he also assesses the needs of each child and the whole group of children, develops, implements and evaluates individual and group socio-pedagogical interventions that are harmonized with the assessment of needs and based on evidence of effectiveness, proposes to other participants various forms of support, conducts counseling with teachers, with children, parents and all other important people in the child’s life. In other words, he or she creates the conditions for a healthy development of children in order to change their behavior and effectively meet their own needs while respecting norms, rules and boundaries.

Difficulties in the psychosocial functioning of the individual in modern society, conditioned by an accelerated pace and way of life, social, economic and political changes, dictate the need to affirm pedagogue - social pedagogical professions that will contribute to empowering individuals and solving these difficulties. According to Žižak (2014), the field of work of support professions refers to working with behavioral problems, emotions and working on interpret-human relationships, and the role of helpers is to actively listen and direct the user towards a better lifestyle and better psychosocial functioning. In other words, support professions are dedicated to helping others (Dimitrijević, Hanak & Milojević, 2011). The helper professions include psychology, social work, social pedagogy, theology and psychotherapy (Žižak, 2014).
