Promoting Academic Integrity: Strategies and Challenges in Higher Education

Abstract

This study covers academic integrity within educational institutions. To maintain a dynamic learning environment based on truth, justice and trust, the potential solution has been highlighted. For understanding students' educational integrity, approaches have also been highlighted because of the importance and impact of learning on them. Nowadays, Institutions are at risk of damaging their reputation due to ethical and legal issues. Moreover, with the rapid technological advancements, teachers are facing new problems, including the trend of using artificial intelligence. The study discusses various challenges in higher education and their potential solutions. The solution includes educating students about the ethics of using AI tools and setting benchmark for maintaining academic honesty. Institutions should set clear standards, provide ongoing training, support, and prioritize diversity and fairness to combat academic dishonesty. The chapter also enlightens current concerns including contract cheating, online proctoring, and identifying plagiarism.
