Abstract

This chapter aims to show that educational policy issues can influence a researcher’s choices in conducting his or her research on educational technology. General statements from the “No Child Left Behind Act” in the United States, for example, as well as more specific statements in the NETS-T and ISTE are compared with policies in other countries. A key question for researchers intending to conduct Internet-supported educational research is, “which educational policies are currently affecting Internet-supported educational research”. Another question worth considering, “should I learn about policy evaluation of educational technology?”
