Abstract

The tourist industry of the twenty-first century has been shaped by significant trends that are affected by advancements in technology and innovative marketing strategies. Gastronomy tourism is one among them. The objective of this research is to discover the factors that impact the expansion of astronomy tourism, with the goal of predicting the factors that determine the availability of resources for global marketing efforts. An effective approach to categorizing food items can be achieved by considering the geographic sources of a particular gourmet cuisine. Consequently, the increasing reliance and utilization of “geographical indicators” (GIs) may encompass unique characteristics associated with a particular location or differentiating attributes derived from the history, culture, and folklore of a given geographic region. This study examines the economic significance and impact of geographical indication (GI) indicators on gourmet tourism, as well as the utilization of GI as a novel branding technique.
