Abstract

Accreditation is an important tool to foster quality assurance in higher education. ABET accreditation is one of the well-known program accreditation bodies to foster quality assurance in academic programs across the world. Aligning the quality procedures of an academic program with ABET aligned processes is a complex task and, in this chapter, we highlight the program assessment and quality assurance practices adopted in an artificial intelligence undergraduate program in Saudi Arabia. The findings highlight that appropriate planning and execution of quality management practices along with stakeholders' education are key factors in fostering a quality culture in an academic program. The case study provides insights for new programs to adopt quality processes in their academic program.
