2. Conclusion

Africa is the continent of the future, with great emerging business opportunities. Therefore, any company that wishes to be and remain competitive globally ought to have a footing in Africa sooner than later. This will give the company a first-mover and incumbent advantages. Incumbency and first-mover advantages enable a firm to develop a sustainable competitive advantage, both of which enhance its barriers to entry. Africa is the last frontier in global business and in creating increasing value for global and domestic companies’ stakeholders. According to anthropologists and social societies, Africa is the origin of man (Diamond, 1998). The continent will be the last frontier in creating wealth for mankind in the 21st century.
