Because of changes in politics, the public, and business, the twenty-first century has seen a surge in interest in environmental issues (Bayraktar and Baykal, 2022). Environmental and social sustainability are top priorities for businesses (Ardito and Dangelico, 2018). The growing importance of sustainability has resulted in the formation of an entirely new field of study in human resource management (HRM) theory, green human resource management (GHRM), which focuses on how HRM can be used to achieve environmental development goals (Baykal and Divrik, 2023). Until now, every major crisis has introduced circumstances that have played a significant role in precipitating the current situation's changes and created the baseline for increasing awareness regarding sustainability (Baykal, 2021). Green human resource management is a concept that arose from academic research in response to environmental needs in the workplace and has far-reaching consequences of sustainability-based practices for both individuals and corporations. Green management has grown in popularity around the world as a result of increased interest in environmental issues and how businesses can reduce waste, pollution, and carbon emissions, as well as numerous requests from customers, societies, and governments that businesses be socially responsible in solving environmental problems that they created. In relation to green management, green human resources management (GHRM) is a strategy that has a direct impact on the emergence of green workforce in organizations that use it (Alavi and Aghakhani, 2023). Green HRM is the part of human resource management that turns corporate personnel into environmentally conscious employees in order to meet the environmental goals sought to be applied in an organization, and it is a crucial point for environmental sustainability as a result (Chaudhary, 2020).
In a variety of ways, implementing a sustainability strategy improves both internal and external social and environmental consequences. However, after a strategy has been developed, the results must be tracked and reviewed.
