Abstract

Teacher professional development (TPD) is increasingly significant in the digital age, especially as smart cities continue to emerge and shape education. This chapter aims to explore how modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), and online learning platforms, are transforming traditional TPD models. By integrating these technologies into professional development programs, educators can enhance their skills, adopt innovative teaching practices, and foster more inclusive, environmentally conscious, and equitable learning environments.In the digital age, teachers often face challenges in adapting to rapid technological changes.
