Abstract

The Indian way of learning and teaching history is essential for teaching and learning in the future. The ancient Sanskrit term “jnana” is cognate with the Indo-European root for cognition (knowledge). According to Barnard Baars, all contemporary Indo-European languages have lexical items with equivalent meanings. Moreover, as per Noam Chomsky, an Indian man named Bhartrhari created the first transformational grammar in the ninth century. In the 1800s, Maxmuller, a German philosopher, and Arnold Edwin, a British poet, were the first to spread Vedic essence and the profound ideas of Indian philosophy to many people in the West. Since the beginning, education has undergone many changes to keep up with the changing needs of society. The Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning, which started in Italy at the turn of the 20th century, significantly impacted primary education worldwide. Tomorrow's world can be built using today's knowledge, innovation, and technology. Artificial intelligence and machine learning based on academic and real-world examples to close the gap is priority.

Introduction

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Part One, underscores that well-rounded education for children is a top priority. So, teachers boil down their lessons to the essential parts so that students can focus on critical thinking and equating them to real-world experience. Part two is devoted to healthier education, with a focus on qualified colleges and universities, institutional restructuring and consolidation, holistic and multidisciplinary education, optimal learning environments and student support, motivated, energized, and capable faculty, teacher education, and catalyzing quality academic research in all fields through a new national research foundation. Using and integrating technology to promote Indian languages, arts, and culture is discussed, as is online and digital education, in Part Three. Therefore, a coherent approach is imperative for culminating in Academia 4.0, a 21st-century natural fabric of advent in research, innovation, holistic development, and the backdrop of inter-alia Indian philosophy and social and behavioral science. History-based teaching and the Indian way of learning are both critical for the future of education. The Indo-European root of cognition (knowledge) is the same as the prehistoric Sanskrit word “jnana.” Barnard Baars says that all modern Indo-European languages have words that mean the same things (Baars, 2009). In the 1800s, philosopher Maxmuller, born in Germany, in his book Sacred of the East (Müller, 1879), and poet Arnold Edwin, born in England, in his book Light of Asia (Arnold, 1890), were the first to bring Vedic essence and the profound ideas of Indian philosophy to the West. A culture in civilization is what we pass on to the next generations through education, in whatever form it may be. Education has undergone numerous modifications throughout history to keep up with the times. The Reggio Emilia method in educational philosophy and pedagogy, used in Italy at the start of the 20th century, significantly impacted how primary education was done worldwide with experimental learning. To create a whole world in the future, research, innovation, and technology used today must be interwoven into education. The NEP 2020 encourages that, among other things, artificial intelligence and machine learning from academic and real-world examples will help close the gap. The gradual implementation of NEP will impact academia and its aim to transition phase-wise transpiration smoothly. This chapter explains the role of pedagogy, curriculum planning, critical thinking, learning, creative thinking, interest, and the relevance of Academia 4.0 in light of teaching philosophy, educational psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. The boundary of each role is often blurred when viewed coherently. The following sections will discuss these essential things to consider for a holistic goal in Academia 4.0.
