Abstract

Floridi is the founder of the philosophy of information. This philosophical discipline aims at theoretical reflection on the complex information reality. While Floridi focuses on conceptualizing terms such as inforg, infosphere, onlife, information, or information interaction to create a new language to describe this complex phenomenon, this chapter will focus on their connection to the philosophy of education. The critical contribution of the chapter is also the conception of the inforg, which leaves the entity-relational scheme of thought and becomes a more networked, dynamic, evolving phenomenon. It offers one of the first elaborations of information constructivism, building on social constructivism and linking it to educational challenges. The connection between the philosophy of education and information forms the core of this—primarily terms-building—chapter.
